The Real Thing

So, the storyline of our book actually happened today. Eight people died in a shooting in Minnesota at Red Lake High School.

I know about the shooting but it's totally different from the book. Yes, it was a shooting but I think that this boy off of the Indian reserve wanted to kill anyone even those related to him...his grandparents. I'm guessing he was holding angry about something they had done or he just needed help. To kill someone related to you, I personally think that would be 10 times harder then to kill random kids at school.

It's like what we talked about in class today...when writing this book about a massacre it seemed crazy because stuff like this doesn't happen in Canada. But when hearing about something like that happening in the USA, it just seems normal.

It does seem normal and so many people think that way. You have to think too, that the US has a population ten times ours. So statistacally, the probability of that happening will be more likely in the US.

The idea of something like this happening here is catching on... But I would think it should be quite obvious by now.
